Staying in Northern Minnesota on Bass Lake
JoAnne Tillemans
I swim
slowly
cross ripples of deep blue
fading,
towards a bird
low
on my horizon,
towards the sound
of a Common Loon
calling.
I try to reach it
never quite reach it.
Treading
still
it's far away
still
if I traveled
all this way
for this.
It has been worth it.
